Dr. Vekman is originally from a small town in New York.
After numerous life adventures on the East Coast, she decided to move out West. Dr. Vekman earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University. She was awarded the prestigious Winn Feline Foundation and American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) scholarship during her senior year of Veterinary School.
Dr. Vekman worked for several years in California at a feline specialty hospital prior to moving back to Boise, ID to be closer to her family. Dr. Vekman is excited to be a part of the TVVH team for the highly regarded gold-standard medical care provided to our canine and feline patients. Dr. Vekman's special interests include feline medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, geriatric & palliative care.
While outside the hospital environment, Dr. Vekman enjoys drawing, painting, sewing, music, dancing, and hiking. Most of her time is spent in the company of her six fuzzy felines: Amos, Thelma, Louise, Schuster, Fig, and Stinky Linky.
